November 2019: The Cyprus-UK Business Association, ICAEW and the British High Commission, with the support of Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, CFA Society Cyprus, ICPAC, Cyprus Investment Funds Association – CIFA and the Cyprus branch of the Royal Commonwealth Society, co-organised a screening of WWF’s documentary “Our Planet Our Business”, on 27 November, at the Cleopatra Hotel in Nicosia, attended by dozens of viewers. A panel-discussion on how businesses can contribute to tackling #ClimateChange followed, moderated by the British High Commissioner Stephen Lillie. The speakers, including ICAEW CEO Michael Izza, the Cyprus Investment Funds Association chairman Andreas Yiasemides, the director of Cyprus’ Environment Department Costas Hadjipanayiotou, the UN Ambassador for Mediterranean Coasts Xenia Loizidou and Grant Thornton supervisor George Karayiannis, all shared their views on how businesses can reduce their carbon footprint and become “greener”.
