September 2019: The School of Law of the University of Nicosia in cooperation with the Eastern Mediterranean Studies Initiative (EMSI), the Cyprus Center for European and International Affairs, the Diplomatic Academy of the University of Nicosia, the Dialogue Chair in Middle Eastern Studies, the Advanced Media Institute, the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean Academic Network (BSEMAN), the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, the Royal Commonwealth Society Cyprus Branch, and the Global Semesters of the University of Nicosia, organized the 4th EMSI Annual Conference. The interdisciplinary conference aimed to bring together scholars and practitioners from diverse fields, including international relations, political science, political economy, law, political communication, sociology, energy and environmental studies, governance, media studies, technology studies, anthropology, history and cultural analysis. The conference pursuant to the Initiative further aimed to act as a focal point of connecting academia, political practice and the industry.
